? Encourage Festive Cheer in your Work Place ? - Activfirst
It’s the most wonderful time of the year folks…so, deck the halls, and jingle all the way, because baby it’s cold outside.
Since we’re not ones for beating around the holly bush at Activfirst, we’ll get straight to it.
Our Top 5 Tips to Improve Workplace Festive Cheer
Decorations – What better way to combat the dark and dreary nights of winter than with some glaring multi coloured Christmas lights and shiny tinsel. Let’s face it, is it even Christmas without an endearing nod to the festive tat of yesteryear?!
Secret Santa – We do an annual Secret Santa and the rules are quite simple really – feel free to copy and paste as applicable:
- Choose a ticket from a sealed box (keep the name of that person hidden from everyone else.)
- Buy the most revolting, cringeworthy present that represents that person
- Do not spend more than £10 on the present.
- Be prepared to be embarrassed at the staff Christmas party (this is when everyone will open their presents)
Staff Advent Calendar – This year we are trialling something new. We have used a website called Advent my Friend to create a customized online advent calendar to filter out to our lovely staff. We have collated positive feedback about everyone and created Word Art images to embed into our Advent Calendar for each staff member throughout the Advent season. All the websites we have used are super easy and fun to use; if we can do it anyone can! This is an activity we definitely recommend.
Ugly Christmas Sweater Day – Did you know that on Friday the 15th of December it is “Ugly Christmas Sweater Day” so naturally we have issued a staff challenge to participate in the grand occasion. We simply can’t wait to see the photos. (Don’t worry these will be shared across our Facebook and Twitter so stay tuned.)
Staff Christmas Party – There is nothing better than a good old staff Christmas knees up. So round up your colleagues, pick a location and celebrate the Christmas shut down and get ready to recount all the embarrassing stories in the New Year!
So from all of us here at Activfirst, eat, drink and be merry this festive season!
